Hired a car of hertz darwin airport picked it up at 1am after them trying to charge more than the quoted amount, the next day ( after a sleep in ) went to car and noticed how dirty it was in the rear and also doors not able to be unlocked or opened . After contacting them to report condition of interior and door issues received a phone call stating i would have to pay for cleaning. Absolutely disgusted in their service.
WARNING: BE VERY WARY OF RECEIVING EMAILS PURPORTING TO BE FROM THIS OFFICE.Two days after returning a car to this office, I received a Hertz Damage Claim email and, after numerous attempts to contact the office, I was eventually told that they could not explain the reason for the email!

This location charges per km, regardless of your corporate plans or other promotions. This sucks in itself, but they also overcharge the kms used! I took out the car with around 30 km on the clock and returned it with around 300. Got charged for 600 km!!! If you count in fuel costs, that's like AUD 250 for a normal rental day! I am a Hertz Gold Plus member and rent through Hertz a lot. this is the first time something like this happened to me. Needless to say, I already reported this to Hertz corporate and I'm pretty sure they'll sort it out, but they can take up to two weeks to respond. Be very careful with paperwork they hand you and make sure to witness them recording in/out kms accurately, especially if renting for longer terms, otherwise they'll shamelessly overcharge you hundreds of dollars. The only positive about this location is that the fleet they have has just been updated to brand new cars.
Do not recommend. Either they're hurting for money or their employees are dishonest, but how one receives an incident report when you know you were not in an incident, is beyond me. Check the vehicles thoroughly because apparently they'll scam you for more money by making up some accident that never happened
