I spent days gathering information to support the strategy she suggested. She charged me $60 for her 6 minute review of this information, but when asked, was unable to provided legal advice regarding the strength of the argument. At the first hurdle, she hand-balled me to an intern, and I never spoke to Vanessa again. I felt like I was being robbed by my ex, and the lawyers. In the end, I organised my own settlement and I was satisfied with the lower cost intern executing the paperwork. To finalise the matter Withnalls charged me $3752.72, which they deducted directly from my settlement sum, without asking. This fee was in addition to $2000.00 initially quoted, and deposited in Withnalls account, prior to commencement of work. Vanessa manages her clients with email first, and phone calls second, only if required. The client is charged both for the lengthy emails, and for the telephone conversations that explain the lengthy emails. I leave the experience quite ambivalent, and offer this review as a heads-up to others who think theyve finally found the right lawyer.
